The Montana State Society Officers are volunteers that create, manage, and run the State Society events and activities.

Jayne Visser

Jayne was born and raised in Missoula Montana and is a 5th Generation Montanan. She came to D.C. in 2002 to pursue an education at George Washington University and to work in the United States Senate for Senator Conrad Burns.  Since then, Jayne continued her education at Parsons in New York and is an inventor and entrepreneur.  Jayne still considers Montana her home and loves to visit as often as she can - her favorite spot is Flathead Lake which she likes to call The Hamptons of Montana.

Sarah Weaver

Sarah Weaver is proud to have grown up in Big Sky country. After receiving her B.S. in Finance from the University of Montana in 2012, she began an internship with the Senate Finance Committee Majority on Social Security policy and federal budget issues. Sarah then started working for the Social Security Advisory Board, where she focused on retirement security, financial education and the Boards’ public affairs activities. Most recently, Sarah joined the Domestic Finance division of the U.S. Treasury Department where she serves as a policy advisor. Sarah visits her family in MT as often as she can, and desperately misses the mountains, hiking, downhill/cross-country skiing, and fishing opportunities that Montana affords.

Genevieve Beltrone
Director of Events

Genny was born and raised in Great Falls, Montana. After graduating from Great Falls High (Go Bison), she left Montana to attend Gonzaga University. Her favorite things about Montana are the outdoors and the people. After spending one last summer in Great Falls, she packed up and moved to DC in August 2014. Genny was then hired by Senator Jon Tester that November. She feels that even though she is far from home, she has the best job in the world because she gets to talk about Montana and to Montanans all day long.

Athena Schritz
National Conference of State Societies Delegate

Athena Schritz currently serves as the Montana State Society delegate to the National Conference of State Societies, an organization providing support and connection for all state society organizations in DC, where she is currently serving as the organization's treasurer.  Athena grew up in Townsend, MT, in the shadow of Old Baldy and the Elkhorns.  She holds a B.S. in Criminal Justice Studies from the University of North Dakota. Her trek east and specifically to Washington, DC, began in college following a summer internship in DC with former U.S. Senator Max Baucus. In 2007, Athena joined the staff of the United States Senate Committee on Finance and currently serves as the committee's hearing clerk. While Montana will always be home, she has a soft spot for the nation's capitol and the unique experience it provides residents and visitors.
